Life Support Technologies Group
(LST) has appointed Edward Golembe, MD, as Co-Clinical Director to oversee
medical consultation, patient care continuum, clinical program development,
hyperbaric tunneling medical supervision, hospital-based preceptorships and
mentoring of MDs in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Golembe continues
as Co-Clinical Director of LST’s accredited 40-hour Introduction to Hyperbaric
Medicine course, held four times a year, in addition to his duties as Director,
Skin Integrity Service at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.
Dr. Golembe is board-certified in
Plastic Surgery and also in Hyperbaric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists (FACCWS). His previous positions include Director of the Hyperbaric
& Wound Healing Center at Brookdale University Hospital, Brooklyn, NY;
Director of the City Island Hyperbaric Chamber, City Island, NY; Director of
Hyperbaric Medicine at Brooklyn Hospital, Brooklyn, NY; and Acting Director of
Plastic Surgery at NY Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.
Professional societies to which Dr.
Golembe belongs include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons; New York
Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons; Medical Society of the
County of Kings (NY); Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society; and the New York
State Hyperbaric Medical Society.
Edward Golembe, MD, is also an avid
scuba diver and is a Divers Alert Network (DAN), Durham, NC, referral
physician.
