(LST) has appointed Scott Gorenstein, MD, as Co-Clinical Director to oversee
medical consultation, patent care continuum, clinical program development, hyperbaric
tunneling medical supervision, hospital-based preceptorships and mentoring of
MDs in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Gorenstein continues as Co-Clinical
Director of LST’s accredited 40-hour Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine
course, held four times a year, in addition to his duties as Clinical Director
of Hyperbaric Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY.
Dr.
Gorenstein is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician with additional
board certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. A graduate of New York
Medical College, Dr. Gorenstein then completed a residency in Emergency
Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He has been involved in the
field of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care since his completion of residency
in 2000. Dr. Gorenstein has a particular interest in the use of hyperbaric
oxygen in patients with side effects from radiation. He is currently involved
in a clinical trial using hyperbaric oxygen to augment radiotherapy for
glioblastomas and another clinical trial using a novel wound healing product to
secure and treat skin avulsions. He is also a board member for Families
Fighting Flu.
