Edward Golembe, M.D., has been appointed Skin Integrity
Director at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY (http://www.westchestermedicalcenter.com/) Dr. Golembe is board-certified in Plastic
Surgery and also in Hyperbaric Medicine.
His responsibilities include evaluating admitted patients who have
wounds, or who may be in danger of developing pressure ulcers from long-term
bed or post surgical immobility.
Dr. Golembe comes to Westchester Medical Center from
Brookdale University Hospital, Brooklyn, NY where he was Director of the Hyperbaric
and Wound Healing Center. Other
positions that Dr. Golembe has held include: Director of the City Island
Hyperbaric Chamber, City Island, NY; and, Director of Hyperbaric Medicine at
Brooklyn Hospital, Brooklyn, NY.
In addition to his new appointment, Dr. Golembe continues
as Clinical Director of the 42-hour “Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine”
course (http://lifesupport-usa.com/training_programs.htm
) that is jointly sponsored by the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Center
(UHMS – http://uhms.org/) and
the Life Support Technologies group (LST - http://lifesupport-usa.com/
), Tarrytown, NY. The Course is held
four times a year in hospitals in the greater-NY region and is aimed primarily
at physicians and also allied health professionals.
